Seacliff Neem Seed Meal

Natural Pest Management

NPK = 5 – 2 – 2

Seacliff Neem Seed Meal is organic and made in New Zealand by the experienced team at Seacliff Organics in Otago.

Neem Seed Meal is a natural pesticide derived from the seeds of the neem tree (Azadirachta indica). It is a slow-release fertiliser, providing a steady supply of nutrients over an extended period. This gradual nutrient release mimics the natural growth conditions of plants, preventing nutrient imbalances and promoting sustained, healthy development.

Neem is renowned for its natural insect-repelling properties, and it can help control a variety of pests. Here are some common pests that Neem Seed Meal may help to get rid of:

Aphids: Neem seed meal acts as a deterrent for aphids, which are small, sap-sucking insects that can infest a wide range of plants.

Whiteflies: Whiteflies are tiny insects that feed on plant sap and can cause damage to leaves. Neem seed meal may help deter and control whitefly infestations.

Spider Mites: These tiny arachnids can be a nuisance in indoor and outdoor gardens. Neem seed meal has insecticidal properties that may help in managing spider mite populations.

Thrips: Neem seed meal can be effective against thrips, which are small, slender insects that feed on plant tissues and can cause damage to leaves, flowers, and fruits.

Mealybugs: Mealybugs are soft-bodied insects that feed on plant sap. Neem seed meal can act as a deterrent and help in controlling mealybug infestations.

Scale Insects: Scale insects can be challenging to control, but neem seed meal may have some impact on their populations due to its insect-repelling properties.

Nematodes: Neem seed meal has been reported to have nematocidal properties, which means it may help control soil-dwelling nematodes that can damage plant roots.

Fungus Gnats: Neem seed meal can also be beneficial in controlling fungus gnats, especially in the larval stage. Fungus gnats can be a common problem in the soil of indoor plants.

How to use:

Blend Seacliff Neem Seed Meal thoroughly into your potting mix before planting or repotting your indoor plants. We recommend mixing this into the soil and then letting the soil rest for one week for best results. Use about 160 grams per 50 Litre of soil for soil building.

Modified media/ potting soil

  • 150 grams or 240ml per 50 litres.
  • 3.3 kg or 2.5 litre per 1m3

Soil

  • 50 grams or 80ml per 1m2

It is ideal for plants with pest problems including indoor plants, flowering plants and fruit plants.

Use in a well ventilated area and wear a mask to avoid inhaling particles. Wear gloves and wash hands after use.

It’s important to note that while neem seed meal is a natural and environmentally friendly option for pest control, its effectiveness can vary, and it may not completely eliminate all pest problems. It’s advisable to use Neem Seed Meal in conjunction with other pest control for a more comprehensive approach if required.

Store sealed in a dry area.
