Propagation Vase

Propagation tips:

Choose Healthy Cuttings: Select a healthy stem or leaf from the parent plant. For stem cuttings, choose a section with several leaves and at least one node (the spot where leaves emerge), as roots will form from this node.

Make a Clean Cut: Use sharp, clean scissors or snips to make a clean cut just below a node. Remove any leaves that would be submerged in water, as they can rot. You may want to dip the stem in Clonex Rooting Hormone Gel which will encourage stronger and faster root development and protect the cutting from disease.

Prepare the Vase: Fill the vase  with room-temperature water. We recommend using Clonex Clone Solution to increase your chance of propagation success.

Place the Cutting in Water: Place the cutting in the vase, ensuring that the node is submerged in water, but keep the leaves above the waterline to prevent rot.

Provide Adequate Light: Place the vase in a spot with bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can cause algae growth in the water and stress the cutting.

Change the Water Regularly: Change the water every few days to a week to prevent stagnation and bacteria buildup.

Monitor Root Growth: Roots should begin to form within a few days to a few weeks, depending on the plant species. Once the roots are a few inches long and well-developed, the cutting is ready to be planted in soil.

Transplant Carefully: When roots are established, transfer the cutting to a pot with well-draining soil. Water the newly potted plant lightly and place it in a suitable location to acclimate.
