Seedling Heat Mat

Using a Seedling Heat Mat can extend the usual growing season and increase the success of your propagations.

This Seedling Heat Mat is made from durable and easy to clean PVC. At 50 Watts it heats quickly and evening across the surface.

It is suitable for any seedlings or propagations that require extra warm in the colder months or any time of the year.

The optimal range for seedings is 18°C to 24°C, depending on what you are growing.

How to use:

Unfold the mat and smooth out on a flat surface. Place your seedlings, plants or tray on top of the mat.

Place the sensor probe into the soil or growing medium, ensuring it is close to the root zone. Select a seedling in the centre of the mat to get the most accurate reading.

To set the temperature for the mat, follow these steps:

  1. Press the SET key to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius mode. The display will reflect the actual temperature from the temperature sensor by default.

  2. To set the required temperature, double press the + button to enter the temperature setting mode. The display screen will start blinking, indicating you are in the setting mode.

  3. To change the set temperature:
Press the – key to lower the temperature by 1°C (or 1°F) at a time.
Press the + key to increase the temperature by 1°C (or 1°F) at a time. The temperature range is from 20°C to 45°C.
Once the display shows 45°C, pressing the + key will have no effect. In this case, you need to press the – key to decrease the temperature.
    Press SET when done.

You can long press the + or – key for 300ms to make quicker adjustments.

  1. While adjusting, the temperature value will blink. If there’s no further adjustment after 3 seconds, or if you press the SET key again, you will exit the temperature setting mode. The set temperature value will be saved.

  2. After exiting the setting mode, the display will show the temperature of the sensor, and the device will enter temperature control mode, maintaining the set temperature.

  3. To check the heating pad’s temperature, place the temperature sensor head on the heating pad. The temperature index on the display will change accordingly.

When the device is powered off, the display will show OFF, and the heating stops. When turned on again it will automatically be set at the last temperature setting before it was turned off.

The mat has a generously long cord for flexibility. The cord on the temperature sensor is 175cms long.

The cord from the plug to the controller is 185cms and from the controller to the mat is 140cm making the total cord length 325cm long.
