Plant Runner Neem Oil FAQ
What is the shelf life of this product?
Most pure Neem once mixed has a shelf-life of around 4 days. Plant Runner add a plant-based oil to the blend that extends the shelf-life of the Neem to 18 months, as well as acting as a wetting agent so the nozzle won’t clog up. These oils also extend the potency of the Neem on the plant after spraying. Plant Runner do not use any synthetic preservatives in the mix.
Store in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight.
Is it safe to use around children and pets?
It contains organic sulphur, proteins and various beneficial trace elements and can be used safely around pets and children. It doesn’t harm beneficial insects either like bees, lady bugs and butterflies.
Avoid the eyes and wash hands after use. It is not for human consumption. Avoid inhaling or ingesting.
Will this help with pest management?
While Neem has been used for decades for pest management, Plant Runner Neem Oil is not registered as an insecticide which means it cannot be marketed as such. In agriculture neem is used as a fertiliser as it contains a number of beneficial proteins and trace elements that plants love. For the companies that have registered their neem as a pesticide, they use it to manage pests.
Why should I shine my foliage?
Wiping away dust from your plant’s foliage is an important part of plant care. Dust can build up on the leaves of indoor plants as there is no wind or rain to clean them. The dust can prevent photosynthesis and your plant will not grow to its full potential.
How often should I wipe the foliage?
We recommend cleaning the leaves once a month.
Will the oil clog the pores?
We love Neem Oil for indoor plants as it is a great natural leaf shine. As it is a non comedogenic oil, it does not block the plant’s pores so their stomata can continue to exchange carbon dioxide and water with the atmosphere.
What are some other health benefits of using Neem?
Neem also contains a number of beneficial proteins and can act as a natural fertiliser.
