Egmont Leca – Clay Balls

LECA consists of small, porous clay balls that are heated to high temperatures, causing them to expand and form a lightweight, absorbent medium. It is a 100% natural growing medium with a neutral pH.

How to use LECA

Rinse thoroughly to remove dust and soak for 24 hours to allow it to absorb moisture before use.

Transitioning Plants to LECA
Remove the plant from its soil, carefully clean the roots, and trim any dead or damaged sections.

Setting Up Your Pot
Use a pot with drainage holes or a semi-hydroponic container. Add LECA to the pot, ensuring the plant’s roots are supported.

Fill the bottom of the pot with water, ensuring the roots are not submerged but can access moisture through the wicking action of LECA.

Fertilising
Since LECA doesn’t provide nutrients, use a hydroponic fertiliser to nourish your plants. We recommend Growth Technology Foliage Focus or Growth Technology Complete Focus – both of which are formulated for hydroponics.
